Mark Allen Nare

March 10, 1956- February 4, 2018

Born to Philip and Caroline Nare in 1956, Mark grew up in Burbank playing basketball, and running cross-country and track. Mark graduated from Burbank High School and joined Fire Suppression Aid (FSA) at age 18 and after working in the camps, Mark was hired onto Los Angeles County Fire Department where he worked for 37 years. Above all, Mark loved his firefighting career and retired from Station 125 as a Captain in 2011.

Mark met Sarah in 1977 on a blind date at Knotts Berry Farm and they spent the next 41 years together. Mark was fiercely devoted to Sarah and was a loving, patient, and affectionate father to his daughter, Jessica and son, Trevor.

A natural athlete, Mark was an accomplished marathon runner and golfer. He had a great love for the outdoors, animals, and the underdog in any fight. Mark will be remembered for his contagious laugh, corny  jokes, deep compassion, and his unwavering commitment to his family.

A celebration of Mark’s life will take place at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home on Sunday, February 11 at 10:00am. Donations in Mark’s name can be made to the Grossman Burn Center or Camarillo Hospice.
