...Resting In Peace & Loved By All...

Alfredita, also known as Lola Freda and ‘Wowa’ to her grandchildren, and ‘Mommy’ to most, was loved by all. She departed this earth on Monday, March 1, 2021.

The daughter of Honorata and Lucas, Alfredita was born on the island of Samar, in the Visayas region of the Philippines on Monday, September 17, 1934. She spent her life in Manila, attended Philippine Normal College to study education and later worked as a legal secretary. She was also a loved and devoted mother, and was known later on in her life as a grandmother, adored by her grandchildren across the globe.

Alfredita radiated resilience, quiet strength and timeless beauty—she was a woman before her time. Strong and independent, she enjoyed the challenge of competition, be it politics, sports (she was a swimmer and played softball), or games (like Mah Jong and Wheel of Fortune). Her presence always put a smile on your face, one as genuine and loving as hers. She was a pillar in every community she joined.

She believed that our talents were gifts from God that we should nurture, celebrate and share with the world. Blessed with an eye for aesthetic and design, she enjoyed sharing her gift by floral arranging and crochet. In her later years, she proudly took on her role as full-time Lola to her grandchildren—raising them, feeding them their favorite foods, supporting them at their graduations, competitions, recitals and concerts—loving them unconditionally. Alfredita always took pleasure in seeing God’s creatures grow and flourish, whether it was a delicate orchid, a fruiting tree in the neighborhood or a grandkid’s pet.

Family was core to Alfredita, as she was the sister of Iluminada (deceased), Josephina, Edith, Angripino (deceased), Arturo (deceased), and Marianita (deceased). She was the mother to Ricardo Jr. (deceased), Evita, Grace (and Zaldy, son-in-law), Joselito (and Ellen, daughter-in-law), and Leah (and Clay, son-in-law), grandmother of Noelle ‘Noki’, Juan Diego, Ana Gabriella, Philipp ‘Tyger’, Katarina, Alec ‘Lec Lec’, Nicolle ‘Beng’, Rizaldy Jr. ‘RJ’ and Aubrey, and great-grandchild, Uno Antonio.

Her family would like to thank Dr. Manoj Khatore, Dr. Tane Liu, Dr. Li Sheng Kong and the excellent team at the FKC Dialysis Clinic, for the support and care they provided Alfredita and her family over the years.

Tribute poem:

God saw she was getting tired,

And a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around her,

And whispered "Come with me",

With tearful eyes we watched her suffer,

And saw her fade away,

Although we love her dearly,

We could not make her stay,

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard working hands to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best,

Although her heart stopped beating,

Her love will always remain,

Her absence puts upon our hearts,

A very heavy strain,

For now she is in a place of everlasting rest,

We just have to understand that God,

He only takes the best.
