Tribute

Charles Walter Frost was born January 20, 1943 in Lewistown, MT, the son of Charles Walter and Louise Wold Frost.  His family moved to Lidgerwood, ND shortly thereafter.  Charles graduated from Lidgerwood High School in 1961, and then attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, where he earned BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering.

Charles was united in marriage to Karen Lyons of Lidgerwood on January 25, 1965.  They had two children, Mareia and Donald.  They moved to California in 1981, where he has lived and worked in different locations since, most recently residing in Santa Rosa Valley, where they have lived for 25 years.

Charles worked in the field of accident reconstruction in which he provided mechanical failure analyses and expert witness testimony as a registered Mechanical Engineer.  Prior to that, he worked on amusement park design and installation, including the Jaws ride at Universal Studios Florida’s Grand Opening.  Earlier, at Clark’s Melroe Division in Gwinner, ND, he worked on the production improvement of Bobcats, where he obtained three patents for his work relating to hydraulics and pneumatics.

Charles enjoyed refurbishing, driving and showing classic cars, particularly Corvettes and T-birds.  He also enjoyed square dancing with his wife, Karen.  After retirement, Karen and he spent summers at a longtime family lake cabin in Minnesota where they enjoyed fishing, boating and visiting with lifelong friends.
