Dorothy M. Jones

On April 28, 2021 Dorothy Marie Jones passed away peacefully at home at the age of 96.

Dorothy was born September 10, 1924 in Kansas City Missouri to Eugene and Mamie Colville, the fourth of six children. After graduating from Northeast High School in Kansas City she met and married Robert Ewing Jones in 1943. They moved to California in 1955 and settled in the San Fernando Valley where they raised their three children.

Dorothy played an active role in her children’s education and activities working with Girl Scouts, Job’s Daughters, and YMCA. She was devoted to her church and enjoyed her membership in the Northridge Women’s Club and the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In 2005 she relocated to Camarillo where she happily resided until her passing.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband and her daughter Jennifer Wemtz. She is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Martin Garey), son Richard (Claudia), six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Her family extends their heart-felt thanks to her devoted caregivers Rosa, Maria, and Angie. At Dorothy’s request there will be no services.
