Ethel W. Weining passed away at her home on May 23, 2018. She is survived by her two sons, Don and Dale; three grandchildren, David, Jennifer and Lisa; and a legacy of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and cousins and great cousins.
Mom was born Ethel W. Goudey to Stanley and Helena Goudey of Nova Scotia, Canada on October 13, 1915. That’s right! She was 102 years and seven months old. She was one of five children: Donald, Osborn, Eugene and Marjorie. They all grew up together in Los Angeles, CA. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Queen of Angeles Hospital, becoming a Registered Nurse. She was very proud of that accomplishment and spent the next 55 years in the nursing field.
Ethel asked that none weep for her because she had a long and full life with many friends and family and traveled extensively in her retirement years. She was a woman of quiet Christian faith who lived her beliefs without imposing them on others. Over the last nearly 20 years, she was cared for by some of the most wonderful caregivers who became part of our family circle. We wish to acknowledge them by thanking them for their tender loving care. We also wish to thank Assisted Hospice for providing such compassionate care.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford V. Weining. She will be buried alongside Clifford at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills on Tues, June 5th at 11am.
