Tribute

Faye Kimball went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Ev Kimball, and children Deborah (Debbie) and Curt Rothschiller, Scott and Christine Kimball, Robert (Bob) and Anne Kimball and Steve and Lori Kimball; grandchildren Nick, Hannah, and Kathryn Kimball, Kyle, Jake, and Brooke Rothschiller, Morgan and Madison Kimball, Chase and Carter Kimball, sister-in-law Karma Blongewicz, and nephews and nieces.

Faye was born on February 15, 1931 in Niota, Illinois to Hazel and Theodore Lund.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters Betty and Teddy.

She grew up in Medicine Bow, Wyoming and became a Registered Nurse in 1952 at Lincoln General Hospital. It was there that she met her husband, Ev, while caring for Ev’s dad, Theo Kimball. Ev and Faye were married on February 7, 1953, Ev’s 21st birthday, in Lincoln Nebraska.

Ev joined the Air Force and was stationed at Loan-Couvron Air Force base in Northern France. From 1955-1957, they toured Europe from Norway down to Rome and everywhere in between, in their French car, with baby Steve. Bob was born in Chateauroux, France at the Air Force Hospital. They then returned to California where Scott and Debbie were born.

Faye was very proud of her children for being academic achievers. All her children graduated from college. Her sons became a Doctor of Medicine (MD), an Aerospace Engineer, A Director of a major airport and her daughter, a Lawyer. Faye enjoyed going to football games at the Universities of Oklahoma and Nebraska and loved cheering for her sons playing there. She also enjoyed cheering for her son, Bob, when he played for the Green Bay Packers. Faye was very impressed with her grandchildren and loved to talk with them. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren graduate from college and watching them play sports, as well. Faye enjoyed watching her grandsons play football at the University of New Mexico, watching her grandson play baseball in High School and College and other grandsons playing baseball and ice hockey, and watching her granddaughters play volleyball and soccer in High School and College.

Faye worked as a registered nurse for 60 years at a few different hospitals, doctor’s offices and surgi-centers. During this time, she made many good friends, Rita, Gerri and Mary, to name a few, and many more including her neighbors, the Parrotts, and many patients. Everywhere she went she would see patients and they would stop and thank her for helping them.

Faye’s pride and joy was her family whom she loved unconditionally, and they loved her. Her family is very close and has weekly family dinners with friends also joining, occasionally. There was, and always will be, love, laughter, friendly banter, and lots of hugs when our family is together. When family and friends came visiting, mom and dad’s house was, and always will be, the destination of choice. The family loves reminiscing and sharing memories of the “good ole days.”

Faye, as a woman of faith, is now at peace with her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ. A comforting scripture is found in Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things have passed away.”

The Kimball and Rothschiller family would like to thank each one of you for your never-ending prayers and your always present support. Our family would also like to thank Melissa and Marcos at Pleasant Valley St. John’s Hospital for taking good care of mom during her brief stay.

A Memorial Service, grave site burial and reception will be held at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home located at 2052 Howard Rd. Camarillo, CA. 93012, at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, August 20, 2022. All are welcome.
