Gerald E. Hibbard

Gerald "Jerry" Elwin Hibbard passed away peacefully at home in Camarillo, California on April 6, 2018 at the age of 88.

Jerry is survived by Marilyn, his high school sweetheart and wife of 68 years; and his daughters, Nancy Kincaid and Patti Miller; his siblings, Carol MacEwan, Richard Hibbard, Sharon Dye and Ronald Hibbard.  He had three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Jerry was born on December 15, 1929 in Sugar Run, Pennsylvania to Ruth and Elwin Hibbard.  He graduated from Wyalusing High School in 1947 where he played varsity basketball while Marilyn cheered him on as a cheerleader.

Jerry and Marilyn married in 1949 and moved to Arizona.  They then relocated to southern California and lived in Burbank until moving to Thousand Oaks in 1962.   

Jerry was the owner of Valley TV in Thousand Oaks until he retired.

Jerry and Marilyn were active RV enthusiasts and loved to travel.  They traveled all over the country, met many wonderful friends, and collected many rocks which he cut and polished upon returning home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday April 12 at 2:00pm at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Rd., Camarillo, CA 93012 with a reception to follow at the home of Patti Miller.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jerry’s life. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the charity of their choice.
