Irene Elmona Vegas

     Irene Vegas passed away in Maywood Acres Healthcare in Oxnard on July 23, 2022, at the age of 80.   She will be greatly missed, but the loving memories that we have of her will continue to live forever in our hearts.

     Irene enjoyed crocheting, sewing, creating Indian jewelry and being outdoors. She was also very proud of her Chumash heritage.

     Irene is survived by her three daughters, Robin, Brenda and Amber; two sons, Kevin and Kenny; along with her grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. William Vegas and Helen Vargas; brothers, Charlie, Ralph and Freddy; sisters, Dora, Luisa, Cecilia and Ida.

     Irene attended Rio Elementary School, graduated from Oxnard High School and completed a Multi-Clerical Course at Oxnard College. 

     During her lifetime, Irene worked as a Bartender, Machine Shop Operator, Secretary, Electronic Assembler, Drill Press Operator and Micro Inspector.
