Tribute

Jaime Angel Gonzalez, better known as Junior or Juney, is remembered most as a talented and creative son, brother, uncle, and grandson.  Junior, age 22, born September 16,1999 in Ventura, California was called to return home by God on January 11, 2022. Junior is survived by his immediate family, mother Vanesha, bonus-father Gilbert, brothers Joseph andJullian, sisters Sabrina, Destiny and Faith, his dogs Grizzly and Kobe, and his extended family; grandparents, Soraya, Alicia, and Javier, girlfriend Syna and a list of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and chosen family members.

Junior was a talented young man with a passion for life, an infectious laugh, and a contagious smile. He was bigger than the average baby and weighed 9lbs 11oz at birth- perhaps that is why he always had a big heart. As a young boy Junior enjoyed sports having played pony baseball for Northside Little League (Oxnard, CA) and later in high school he took up wrestling at Rio Mesa.

Junior found fulfillment from the simple things in life like playing with puppies, enjoying the beach, listening to music, or camping. Junior also enjoyed the thrills of life, a bit of an adrenaline junkie, which started at an early age (3) with extreme sports which quickly evolved from skateboarding and bicycles (BMX) to motorsports, motorcycles, and cars. When Junior wasn’t found enjoying the simple things of life with his girlfriend and dogs, Junior could be found fixing his friend’s cars, driving his Subaru, and riding motorcycles, dirt bikes and ATV’s with his club- The Hooligans, racing RC’s (remote control cars) or attending concerts or music festivals. Junior also loved to eat tacos, enjoy chocolates, and try new exotic sodas.

While Junior found fulfillment in simple pleasures and extreme sports his greatest gift and commitment was to help others, especially those in need. It is no surprise that Junior and his impact on our lives and the lives of others will live on. When Junior was old enough to get his driver’s license he was committed to being an organ donor.  In the event Junior could one day pay his life forward and help another in need- he wanted to be first in line. Junior, always eager to help, was able to change three lives by being a donor, and he has changed ours forever. Junior is a hero. We know why God called him home early to be on his team- his heart was bigger than life.
