Jerry Coletto from Moorpark, California, passed on July 18, 2021 in the afternoon surrounded by family in Thousand Oaks, California.
Jerry was born in Carbonara di Bari, Italy, to Vito Antonio and Angela Coletto. When he was eighteen years old, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, with his family. After serving in the Army, he married Domenica Latorre on December 28, 1959 in Bari, Italy. In the years to come, Jerry and Domenica had four children, Anna Marie, Antoinette, Michelle, and Jerry Jr. While living in Illinois, Jerry became a skilled construction foreman and built their dream home in Arlington Heights. In 1981, Jerry and his family moved to southern California, where they could enjoy the warm climate. While employed by Motion Pictures, Jerry constructed movie set designs. In 1996, Jerry retired and, after laboring so hard for so long, could finally enjoy each and every day in relaxation.
In his leisure time, throughout his life, Jerry was devoted to his garden, planting and tending to a wide variety of fruit trees and vegetables. Jerry put his creativity to use and made intricate shell pots and beautiful fountains for his garden. Jerry loved playing the card games Scopa and 31. In his younger years, Jerry would spend weekends with friends and family at the beach, took care of finches and canaries, and fished at lakes. Such fond and precious memories of him and his humorous spirit will live on with his much beloved family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Domenica Coletto; his four children Anna Marie (Joseph Russo), Antoinette (Michael Barnes), Michelle (Wayne MacNeal), and Jerry Coletto, Jr. (Jennifer); his ten grandchildren Angela (Haris Mirza), Tiana Russo, Krysta Russo, Taylor (Lyes Messaoudi), Spencer Barnes (Kristen), Skylar Barnes, Logan MacNeal, Addison MacNeal, Juliana Coletto, and Isabella Coletto; his four great-grandchildren Nicolas Mirza, Kaidan Messaoudi, Isaac Barnes, and Mia Messaoudi, his brother Dominic, and his cherished family and friends.
