Marilyn Dawn Hobusch

January 21, 1925 – January 8, 2019 (Age 93)

Marilyn Dawn Hobusch passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 after suffering from Alzheimer’s.  She is now together again with her husband Bert, the love of her life, who passed on June 17, 2009.

Marilyn was born in Turton, South Dakota and was the oldest of two children.  She would have been 94 on her birthday, just a few short weeks away.

Marilyn married Bert on May 22, 1943 in Webster, SD.  They revalidated their marriage September 18, 1948 at St. Matthias Catholic Church in Huntington Park, CA. They raised two daughters and two dogs.   Marilyn went to work after her daughters were in high school.  She had been employed as an Order Clerk and Secretary for the Dyer Specialty Co. and retired as a Computer Operator at the Dept. of Youth Authority for the state of California.  Whether it was vacationing on a cruise ship or driving cross country on a road trip for genealogy research, Marilyn made friends everywhere she went.  She loved tending to her flower gardens, family gatherings, traveling, quilting, sewing, shopping and anything to do with her pets.  All the way to her last days and even despite battling Alzheimer’s, she was a joyous person who laughed easily and often.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharla McQuillin, Rhonda Letner, her son in-law, Ronald McQuillin, her granddaughter, Sunny McQuillin, her grandson, Bif Letner and her great grandson, Jackson McQuillin.  An outgoing lady who never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed.

Her last wish was for her husband, Bert’s, cremains to be buried with her.  Together in life and together for eternity.  May they both rest in peace.

Service will be held January 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Camarillo, CA.
