Richard Basil Peterson was born August 14, 1930 to Basil Hyrum Peterson and Winnifred Mary Dooley in Berkeley, California. Richard went on to attend Cal Berkeley obtaining degrees in engineering.
He met Norma Esther Spjut in November of 1960 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in July of 1961.
Richard is the father of 5 children, 18 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
His love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ shows through his acts of giving and service. Richard and Norma served 6 different missions to the people of Navajo Nation after his retirement.
He will be most remembered for his dedication to his family and wife. His life is a great example of dedication to those things that matter the most and to the other important things that are so easily forgotten.
He died peacefully in his home with family and wife by his side on March 3rd, 2021.
