Tribute

Ricki Maynard Chambers, 72, passed away peacefully May 2, 2021 in Simi Valley, California.

He was born July 2, 1948 at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena to Glenn and Katherine Chambers.  He met his high school sweetheart and future wife at San Fernando High School where he graduated in 1966.  Rick served in the United States Army from July 25, 1966 to July 20, 1969. He was very proud of his military service and loved his country.  Rick married the love of his life, Sharon Chambers, on December 20, 1968 in Los Angeles.  They were married for 49 years until Sharon’s death March 26, 2018. Sharon died of early-onset Alzheimer’s and Rick was her loving caretaker for over five years, until she passed.

Rick and his wife raised their family in Camarillo.  He worked as a printer for Deluxe Check Printers for 26 years, until he had to retire early due to cardiomyopathy.  He lived in Atascadero where he was involved with the Lions Club, organizing free eye exams and eyeglasses for the community.  Rick also enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Atascadero Police Department.

Rick was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 43 years.  Rick and Sharon were Los Angeles Temple Workers for many years, driving from Atascadero to Santa Monica once a month to volunteer their time. He was in the High Priest Group leadership for many years as well as building cleaning coordinator and he always took pride in having clean facilities.

Rick is survived by his brothers and their wives: Gary (Marilyn), Steve (Gloria), and Dale (Linda), along with his four children and their spouses:  Lisa (Brian) Sadowsky, Sara (Allen) Raines, Cathy (Brandon) Buschold, and Brett (Mary) Chambers, as well as his ten beloved grandchildren:  Emily and Alex Sadowsky, Ryan and Tyler Raines, Oliver, Mia, and Nicholas Buschold, and Jack, Audrey, and Lauren Chambers.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4345 Las Posas Road in Camarillo.

- A Life Well Lived -

A life well lived is a precious gift,
of hope and strength and grace,
from someone who has made our world
a brighter, better place.

It's filled with moments, sweet and sad
with smiles and sometimes tears,
with friendships formed and good times shared,
and laughter through the years.

A life well lived is a legacy,
of joy and pride and pleasure,
a living, lasting memory
our grateful heart's will treasure.
