Samuel Barukh, known to his loved ones as Sam, or Dr. Chip, passed away on June 9, 2018 at the age of 47 years.
Sam was born on January 14, 1971 in London, England. He was the second son of Isaac and Mozelle Barukh. In 1974, Sam moved to California with his parents and his brother, Arthur. He then spent his childhood and teenage years in Newbury Park, California.
Sam was an avid athlete and an accomplished wrestler and is well remembered for his accomplishments and sportsmanship. Among other titles, Sam was a two time state qualifier during his years on the Newbury Park wrestling team. He graduated from Newbury Park High School in 1989 and he carried his love for the sport through his life thereafter.
Sam developed a love for computer science at a young age. A self-proclaimed ‘geek’, Sam could often be found dismantling, reconstructing and programing computers. After high school, Sam continued on to Cal State Northridge where he studied computer science. He eventually received his doctorate in Computer Science from both UCLA and University of London.
In 2002, Sam’s son, Isaac Spencer Barukh, was born. Fatherhood was undeniably Sam’s greatest joy and source of pride. He is well remembered as a loving parent who would have done anything for his son and family. Sam is also survived and remembered by his father Isaac H. Barukh, his brother Arthur Barukh and his three half-sisters, Rebecca Parker, Sarah Barukh and Gina Barukh. He was loved immensely and will be deeply missed.
