Shirley J. Baker

Shirley J. Baker was born October 12, 1934, in Culver City, California. Her life was filled with family. She had 5 brothers and5 sisters, and they had a wonderful life. She grew up in the San Fernando Valley and all 11 of the siblings went to Canoga Park High School. She loved to ride horses and all the girls were in bowling leagues together. She enjoyed water skiing, swimming, fishing, and watching her son play guitar. They also spent a lot of time at the beach. She and Cal enjoyed many years of traveling across the United States, Figi, New Zealand, Australia, England, Ireland, Alaska, Hawaii and Mexico. She worked for 25 years for AT&T as a computer operator.

She was predeceased by her parents, Percy and Pauline Straw; brothers: Jack, Andy, Bob, and Skip; sisters: Betty, Virginia, and Dolores. She is survived by her husband: Cal Baker; brother: Buddy Straw; sisters: Carol Keatley and Beverly Raham; son: Bill Lapham (Kelly); step-children Roger Baker (Erika), Beverly McClendon (George), and Steve Baker (Sarah); 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren.

Shirley passed away Sunday, January 6". A sweet wonderful lady full of love that will be greatly missed. Cremation took place at Canejo Mountain Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Friday, January 11th, at 10:00 am at Camarillo Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3975 Las Posas Rd., Camarillo, CA 93010.
