On February 12, 1930, Richard was born the second of three children to Aaron and Bessie Heller of Nutley, New Jersey and passed peacefully in his home on October 15, 2017.  Upon graduation from High School he decided to serve his country and enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he attended the University of Florida. In 1956 he earned a law degree from Rutgers University. In 1963 he married Linda and they started their family a few years later. In 1966 Richard was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in Washington D.C.. In 1970, enticed by the great California weather, they left New Jersey to settle their young family in Northern California. Richard & Linda relocated to Camarillo in 2002 to be able to spend more time with their five grandchildren. In 1972 Richard was admitted to the California Supreme Court and partnered in the Campbell and Heller law firm in Walnut Creek  

     Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; and daughters, Suzanne and Michele; his grandchildren who adored him- Ricky, Vanessa, Lindsay, Nina, and Adam.  He is also survived by his sisters, Norma Nagel & Judy Kalb both of New Jersey; as well as his many nephews, nieces & cousins whom he also loved.   

    At the age of 17, Richard earned his pilot’s license and was an avid aviator throughout his life. He touched all of our lives with his sincere kindness, generosity and sense of humor. Richard has left an indelible mark on our lives through his passion for reading, gaining knowledge about various subjects, music, sports, nature, magic tricks and checker games. He will always be with us and never forgotten.
